Our Record of Innovation
We have revolutionised light harness vehicle design no less than six times since 1978:

1979: The lightweight stainless steel sulky
The first approved for racing in Australia, it achieved the unique distinction of six straight Inter Dominion wins from 1982 to 1987. The Inter Dominion is the southern hemisphere's most prestigious annual race series, and the richest ever Inter - the year 2000 Inter - saw first and second past the post in Regal lightweight stainless steel sulkies.

1986: The Offset Sulky (Aust. Pat. No: 580409)
This type has achieved more than seven world mile records including the fastest mile in the southern hemisphere in the 20th century. More world mile records have been set in this vehicle than in all other single-horse light harness vehicles of all other Australian and New Zealand sulky manufacturers for the last two centuries.

1992: The Regal Gemini/Hittite Special Pairs Racers
A sulky which moved Australia from nowhere to number one (11 world mile records so far) in the only light harness category in which Australia leads the world.

1997: The Floating Link Suspension (Aust. Pat. App. No. PO 5961)
The world's first affordable, effective and commercially successful independent suspension system for light sulkies (see below).

1999: The Millennium Mini
The world's first light sulky to combine a single shaft chassis and independent suspension, the Mini is also the first light suspension sulky of any type with disc brakes. The Mini was created to dramatically reduce the load on light draft animals, such as miniature horses and canines, when negotiating unpaved and/or hilly terrain.

2000: The Regal Apollo Chariot
The world's first chariot with independent suspension, it is also the first to feature rapid changeover from single to dual-horse draft.
